Elizabeth Gilbert (via creatingaquietmind)
This is a very nice quote, very good for those who are already touched by luck. The kind of luck that lets them have an input into their own faith, for which they can fight, strive, insist and travel. Unfortunately most of the world’s population does not enjoy the good fortune to even consider this.
It’s a very nice quote, but also very elitist, as you have to be a privileged of the faith to be able to do all the things that are described there.

Samar Hassan screams after her parents were killed by U.S. Soldiers with the 25th Infantry Division in a shooting January 18, 2005 in Tal Afar, Iraq. The troops fired on the Hassan family car when it unwittingly approached them during a dusk patrol in the tense northern Iraqi town. Parents Hussein and Camila Hassan were killed instantly, and a son Racan, 11, was seriously wounded in the abdomen. Racan, who lost the use of his legs, was treated later in the U.S. (Another Photo by Chris Hondros)
The photographer was just killed in Libya.

Thomas “Tom” Hurndall (27 November 1981 – 13 January 2004):

On 11 April 2003, he was shot in the head in the Gaza strip by an Israeli Defence Force (IDF) sniper, Taysir Hayb. Hurndall was left in a come and died nine months later.” Wikipedia
